Research activities at the APC group entail broad topics in air quality, tropospheric chemistry, micrometeorology (ie. exchange of trace constituents at the surface-atmosphere interface) and ground based remote sensing with a strong focus on environmental mass spectrometry and spectroscopy. We collaborate with national and international research institutions. Recent projects include

  • Long-term research at the Innsbruck Atmospheric Observatory include
      the characterization of NOx emission sources, aerosol, methane and VOC emissions and transformations,  as well as the formation of ozone in urban areas
  • The IAO is part of the Austrian commitment to ACTRIS-AT and serves as a national facility
  • Collaborative work at the Sonnblick Observatory
  • BVOC and Ozone studies at a new forest research station in the Alps (in collaboration with the Faculty of Biology)
  • Pandonia Global Network (collaboration with LuftBlick)
  • Biogenic VOC emissions (in collaboration with Universität für Bodenkultur, Vienna)
